Boom!

There's something about being at work on Friday, when you know you're coming in on Saturday, that makes me want to slack off. I guess that just gives me a good opportunity for a lunch time post...

When I was posting the Mayer baseball clip, I was reminded of the "Boom goes the dynamite!" guy from a while back. Watching this guy call basketball highlights has to rank at the top of the unintentionally comedy scale. (Come to think of it, I can't think of a clip that is any better when it comes to unintentional comedy. What do you think?) Anyway, John's play-by-play is the less funny, intentional comedy version of this:

Side Note: This clip also ranks at the top of the "laughing sooo hard when I'm trying to show something funny to people that they don't think it's the least bit funny" scale. Right up there with the "Since U Been Gone" kid. Hilarious.

Another Kind Of Green

Earlier this week I set the DVR to record the A's/Red Sox games that took place at the Tokyo Dome. I wanted to see Matsuzaka pitch in the first game and Harden in the second but as usual, I never got around to watching them. Instead, I went online to read about the games and watch a couple highlights. The best clip I found was the one I posted above, with play-by-play courtesy of Mr. John Mayer. Apparently, he attended the second game and posted a couple blog entries to document it. Check one, check two.

Fred Sits Alone At His Desk In The Dark

This picture was sent to me in an email forward from someone at my office. It's hard not to crack jokes about working long hours and being unappreciated but this is just shocking and sad. A whole week went by and no one noticed something was wrong? Some people are so self-involved and impersonal, it's sickening... Sorry for the downer.

It's All Understood

Today's Daily Dime pointed me towards this video, which definitely warranted a lunch time post.

Zock On, Zock On

The new Teriyaki Boyz single may not be as good as some of their other stuff but it features the return of "goofy" Busta Rhymes, Japanese-speaking Pharrell and my future wife Jessica Michibata.

Can't Touch This

I posted these dancing prisoner folk before. Here's the latest number featuring two songs you probably recognize:

Analytically I Assault, Animate Things

Just last week or so, I was telling someone that I've always wanted to make my own font and today I stumbled upon this video. As far as quality is concerned, I'm guessing my font would be somewhere in between Hand 1 and Hand 2 (no offense to either artist). Anyway, I thought this was pretty cool.

The Biggest Boss

Watching Rick Ross' new video, I noticed a few things:

- This video's got a fair amount of unintentionally comedy, such as Ross' face chain and T-Pain's Mario Party 8 MC Ballyhoo costume. Now I'm waiting for some youtuber to edit Ballyhoo's head on T-Pain or sync T-Pain's vocoder voice into the video game.
- Whenever I listen to a Rick Ross song, or any other crack rap song for that matter, I wonder just how big of a drug dealer he really was or is. All these rappers claim to be rich off drug money but were they big time players or just low level grunts? I've been wondering this even more after burning through seasons 1-4 of The Wire (I'll have to write about that more later) which gave me a different perspective on the drug game. I'm inclined to think that most rappers aren't walking the walk but I could be wrong. Either way, it was pretty cool and coincidental to see Snoop and Slim Charles from the show making cameos in the video.
- All Rick Ross songs sound the same and with T-Pain singing the hook, this one sounds like every other song on the radio. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. It should be, but it's not.
- Before, they used to blur out logos in music videos and now someone realized it's just another medium to bombard viewers with product placement. I don't know why, but I have an urge to drink a Ciroc cocktail.

Anyway, see for yourself:

Run

With Justin Timberlake being himself... and sorry no karate kicks from Danger Mouse.
